Beverly HIstorical Society
The tumultuous 40 years between 1775 and 1815 included years of war, epidemics, sacrifice and suffering. But they also saw the excitement of the birth of the new nation, with new opportunities both in politics and business.
Revolution to Republic traces Beverly's role in the American Revolution, building a new nation, and the Embargo and War of 1812 using primary documents and objects from the Society's collection, including paintings, pewter, maritime instruments, war correspondence and a 1776 copy of the Declaration of Independence, printed in Salem.
