The 54th Annual Meeting of the Florida Conference of Historians (FCH)

Castillo de San Marco, St AugustineThe 54th Florida Conference of Historians annual meeting will be held at the Renaissance Resort and Convention Center in historic St Augustine on January 31-February 1, 2014. 

In order to participate, please follow the step-by-step process below.  It is important to submit individual paper and/or panel proposals by December 6, 2013.  You may fill out the online proposal form or download a proposal form and send it through the regular mail.  The FCH accepts proposals on all historical subjects and themes, including those that relate to our various Special Interest Sections (Media, Arts, and Culture, Florida History, and Undergraduate Research).  

We also invite individuals to serve as Chairs and Discussants for our panels.  More information is below about lodging at the meeting site.  Finally, it is strongly recommended to pay the advance registration fee by January 24, 2014.  Registration fees fund the costs associated with the annual meeting, including the programs, meeting space, banquet, best paper awards, keynote speaker, and publication of the FCH Annals: Journal of the Florida Conference of Historians

Room Reservation

All conference activity will take place in the host hotel at the Renaissance Resort and Convention Center in St Augustine, which is easily accessible from I-95 (Exit 323).  Rooms are available at the Renaissance Hotel until December 30, 2013 at the special conference rate ($129/night, single; $139/night, double).  The telephone number for reservations is 1-888-789-3090.  You may also make reservations online.

Another option is the Comfort Inn and Suites World Golf Village, which is located across I-95 from the Convention Center.  Rooms are available at the special conference rate ($99/night, King and Double Queen Beds) until January 15, 2014 and includes a free hot buffet breakfast.  Call 904-940-9500 to make a reservation, and please let the hotel know that you are with the Florida Conference of Historians in order to qualify for the discounted rate.  You may visit their website.
