The JLMH is proud to present a documentary film and Q &A with Earl Ijames on “Earl Ijames’s Colored Confederates and U.S. Colored Troops” on Thursday, October 8, 2015 at 7 pm at the Visitors Center of the Joel Lane Museum House at 160 South Saint Mary’s Street, Raleigh, NC 27603. 

Don’t miss this documentary about the history of Civil War-era Blacks who, determined to secure their freedom, aligned themselves with both the Union and the Confederacy. Join us for this 75-minute inspiring film followed by an engaging conversation with Mr. Ijames who wrote and produced the film.

Earl Ijames is curator at the NC Museum of History and has many years’ experience working in the NC Office of Archives and History. He is also a long-time farmer, and he and his wife moved a Victorian ranch house from Zebulon NC to Wendell NC.
