Fashionably Late: The After Party to the Bonaparte Ball

Before gaudy had a negative connotation, before over-the-top bourgeoisie luxury was frowned upon, before the term “middle class” had shed its insulting tone, before the aristocracy was aware of the peasants’ resentment, we could guiltlessly slip into our overpriced imported haute couture, sip generously poured flutes of champagne, and revel in 19th century opulence.

In order to commemorate this nostalgic period of Francophiles and new world elitism, the Maryland Historical Society graciously extends an invitation to take a cue from Betsy Bonaparte: please join us for Fashionably Late, a post-gala after party celebration of excess in all things. Say au revoir to your curfew while we eat, drink, and dance in the finest company and at a location worthy of the occasion, the Garrett-Jacobs Mansion.

On Saturday, June 8th from 9:00 pm – 1:00 am the Young Defenders will host Fashionably Late – The After Party to the Bonaparte Ball.  Fashionably Late will be an elegant evening featuring live music from Kaleidoscope (one of the D.C. region’s best party bands!), a top-shelf open bar, heavy hors d'oeuvres, French desserts, and a few additional surprises.

Black tie optional, with period dress encouraged. Valet parking will be available at 11 West Mount Vernon Place.
