On Sunday, June 23, 2013 at 2 p.m., Ms. Mary Troy Bunker, retired professor with many years' experience teaching fashion and costume design, will discuss several of the historical garments that will be on display from the Oakham Historical Museum's collection. The display will also include an elegant silk taffeta wedding dress made in Paris, a child's brown velvet dress, a lovely gold silk brocade wedding dress, and an exquisite little boy's jacket with matching vest. Ms. Bunker will describe the style, the fabric, and the personal history of the original owner (if known). She will also recommend ways to store and care for historical treasures like these. Her expertise, gained during her 42-year career of teaching, will educate and entertain us.

The Museum will be open from 1 pm until 4 pm. Come early to browse other collections. There will be refreshments. The museum is free and open to visitors of all ages. Call 508-882-3111 for more information.
