The organizing for Slater Mill’s “Cotton Club Speakeasy” is well underway, with the highest hopes for a big payday jackpot at the Club and Casino come Spring. This years’ gala will be held at 7 o’clock on May 11th, 2012 at the local “Speakeasy” also known as Sam Slater’s Cotton Mill, where there will be hors d’oeuvres, casino and cash bar, along with music, dancing and a chance to bid on a gamut of silent auction items.

Why gamble elsewhere when all of the house’s profits will stay right here to benefit the Museum? Make “our house,” Birthplace of the American Industrial Revolution and unique National Historic Landmark in the guise of a 1920’s gambling bar and casino—be “your house”—if only for one night, when Slater Mill’s doors will open to guests who wish to attend. Have fun gambling, safe in the knowledge that whatever you’ve expended will be the Museum’s gain, and a ‘win-win’ for all.
