This program picks up where the musical “Hamilton” leaves off. After his duel with Hamilton, Aaron Burr was politically ruined, so he concocted a plan to carve a new empire out of the west. Burr’s intrigue stretched across the landscape of our nation, both politically and geographically. It would involve sitting presidents and future ones, as well. Burr’s trial for treason was the trial of the century. Join us as we discuss the plot, the players, and the trial from a Cincinnati perspective. Political fortune was made and lost by several prominent early Ohio figures as a result of their involvement with Burr. Ohio and Cincinnati played a larger role in Burr’s plans than many realize.

As part of this program, attendees will be given six pieces of evidence and will get to decide what verdict they would have given as jurors. Will you come to the same conclusion as the original jury?
