The 35th Bread and Roses Heritage Festival takes place on Labor Day, September 2, 11:30 a.m. to 6 p.m., on the Common in Lawrence, MA. It is a free, one-day 'open air' celebration for the whole family. The only Labor Day Festival in the East!

Our top-line performers are Bread and Puppet Theater, Ani Cordero,  Ezekiel’s Wheels / Klezmer, Julie Rhodes / blues, STL GLD, Lenny Lashley’s Gang of One, Renee Goust, and more!

Famed author Katherine Paterson (“Bread and Roses, Too,” “Bridge to Terabithia”) will meet young and old, and receive the B & R Hall of Fame Award.

Lots of children's activities: pony rides, jugglers, arts and crafts, and face painting; historic trolley tours.

Visit our community discussion forum and the popular Lawrence History Live speakers' tent, 12:30 to 3:30 p.m.
