This lecture explores both how the Bauhaus came to Boston and Boston's reaction to the Bauhaus. Dr. Melissa Renn of the Fogg Museum at Harvard University discusses the role that Walter Gropius played in bringing Bauhaus architecture, ideas, and aesthetics to the Boston area and beyond, and looks at his influence on architecture throughout Massachusetts, from Cambridge to Cape Cod. Lecture held in Carriage House followed by an optional tour of Gropius House.
