Author of “Invaded on All Sides: Scene of Michigan’s Greatest Battlefield,” Ralph Naveaux will talk about the “Battles of the River Raisin”. Naveaux is Director Emeritus of the Monroe Country Historical Museum and Chairperson of the Monroe Country War of 1812 Bicentennial Steering Committee. As part of the “1812: Star-Spangled Banner Nation” exhibit, the Detroit Public Library and the Michigan War of 1812 Bicentennial Commission are offering a series of six free Saturday lectures.
Speakers will describe key events in Michigan during the War of 1812.
