Barre and the Lusitania

The sinking of the British luxury liner R.M.S. Lusitania by a German U-Boat a century ago was a disaster with global consequences, coming in the middle of World War I. The Town of Barre shared in this tragedy in a unique and personal way, as described in this program by Barre Historical Society members Lester Paquin and Lucy Allen. We will recall the ship, the politics and the people of this important event on the 101st anniversary of the loss of the Lusitania. Photographs and memorabilia will be featured. The program is co-sponsored by the Barre Library Association.

Snow date for the program is Sunday, February 14 -- same time and place.
