While the windmill at Prescott Farms is in hibernation this winter, artist Nora Rabins, together with neighbors, will be busily preparing some colorful new sails for spring. Be a part the making-process by helping to dye, print, and sew the windmill sails at monthly Studio Work-Sessions.
All ages and skill levels welcome. Free
The large-sale design, derived from a pattern on grinding-stones inside the mill, will be visible from afar. Up close, hand printed graphics will be recognizable as motifs of personal, local and historical relevance. In the fashion of sewing circles and quilting bees, members of the community are encouraged to help make the sails, hoisting the completed product in a barn-raising-style event on May 5, 2013.
