The Golden Ball Tavern Museum will hold a special Anniversary Barn Sale on Saturday, September 29th and Sunday, September 30th as part of its dual anniversary celebrations in 2018. Admission is FREE.

This year marks both the 250th anniversary of the Golden Ball Tavern itself (circa 1768), as well as the Museum’s 50th anniversary as an organization dedicated to education and preservation. Our much-loved Antiques Show and Sale concluded last year after 50 years of continuous operation.

The GBT’s annual Barn Sale has been the centerpiece of our Annual Show and Sale and this year it will offer an exciting selection of antiques, collectibles and more in a Vermont-like setting. The event will be held from 9am until 4pm both weekend days. Admission is free and parking is available on site.

Complimentary tours of the Museum will also be offered on Saturday, September 29th from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and on Sunday, September 30th from noon to 2 p.m.

The Golden Ball Tavern was established in 1768 by Loyalist turned Patriot, Isaac Jones. The Tavern “at the sign of the Golden Ball,” operated as an inn from 1770-1793, served as a base for British spies during the winter of 1775 and played a prominent role in the formation of the British military plan to march on Lexington and Concord in April of that year, marking the start of the Revolutionary War.

The Tavern is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and is entirely self-sustaining.  We are located at 662 Boston Post Road, Weston, Massachusetts - at the sign of the Golden Ball!

Membership supports the on-going restoration and development of the Golden Ball Tavern as a museum and educational resource for schools and for students of the history of architecture and the decorative arts.  Support our museum by visiting our Anniversary Barn Sale or become a member today!
