A talk by author and historian Merry B. Post about the Civil War experiences of Aaron Jones Fletcher and his family.  Fletcher wrote home about army life, the capture of New Orleans, and Sheridan’s pursuit of Jubal Early’s troops in Virginia.  His family wrote him about local gossip and daily life on the farm.  Based on Fletcher’s correspondence with friends and family and his 1862 diary – documents in the Civil War archives of the Acton Memorial Library.
