On Thursday, November 21, at 7 p.m., as part of our continued commemoration of the 150th Anniversary of the Civil War, the Old Colony Historical Society is pleased to welcome Kathryn Tomasek and Zephorene Stickney to present “A Grand Tour during the Civil War: The Wheatons Go to Europe.” Focusing on an April 1862 business trip to Europe by members of the Wheaton family, the speakers will discuss how the war disrupted business and life both locally and abroad. Together, Kathryn Tomasek and Zephorene L. Stickney co-direct the Wheaton College Digital History Project and we are delighted to welcome them for their first presentation at the Old Colony Historical Society. All members of the public are invited to attend. Light refreshments to follow.
