32nd Annual Gingerbread Gallery

Kick off a festive holiday season with the 32nd annual Gingerbread Gallery opening night at the Erie Canal Museum! The Museum will be open until 9:00 p.m., and opening night will feature music by Merry Mischief, free cookies and cocoa, and an array of fabulous, edible creations set in replica Victorian storefront windows. As a bonus, the first 50 families visiting at the beginning of each hour on opening night will receive a free poster titled Ice Skating in Clinton Square. Musical entertainment is scheduled to begin at 7:00 p.m. and cookies and cocoa will be available beginning at 5:00 p.m. The price is $7 for adults, $5 for seniors, and $2 for children 12 and under. There is free parking starting at 5:00 p.m. in the lot across from the Museum under routes 81 and 690.

The 32nd annual Gingerbread Gallery is open daily through January 7 with the exception of Thanksgiving, Christmas Day and New Year’s Day. All proceeds support the Erie Canal Museum’s educational programs, exhibits, research, and collections management.



Children’s Gingerbread House Workshops

Saturday, December 9 & Thursday, December 28 at 11 AM & 1 PM

After being inspired by the creations in the Gingerbread Gallery, children can create their own house to take home using milk cartons, graham crackers, icing and a vast array of decorative edibles.
Pre-registration is required. Registration is $8 for Members and $12 for the General Public. Members should call (315)471-0593 to receive the Member discount when registering.


Gingerbread Build + Sip

Thursday, December 14 from 5 – 8 PM

This special event during the Erie Canal Museum’s Gingerbread Gallery features live music, a cash bar and stations with everything you need to build your own house using graham crackers and a variety of edible decorations. Milk cartons are optional! This fun program is back by popular demand, and is open to ages 21 and over. Admission is $12 for Museum members and $15 for the general public. All Star Band Holiday Concert

Saturday, December 16 at 11 AM

The Erie Canal Museum will host a free concert of holiday tunes by the City of Syracuse Stan Colella All Star Band under the direction of Joe Carello. These talented young musicians will perform a selection of seasonal favorites in the first-floor gallery of the Museum.
