2019 Conference on Illinois History

The annual Conference on Illinois History is scheduled for October 3-4, 2019, at the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library in downtown Springfield and is the state's largest meeting devoted to the history of the Prairie State.

The conference includes sessions that feature topics such as Abraham Lincoln, agriculture, baseball, civil rights, Civil War, early statehood, immigration, museums, politics, race, and women’s history.  The Thursday luncheon speaker features Adam Selzer, HH Holmes: The True History of the White City Devil. On Friday Dr. Wayne Temple discusses Lincoln’s Springfield/Pittsfield Connection: A Tale of Two Cities. Teachers will benefit from workshops on a variety of topics. A special Women’s Suffrage Tour is offered at the Frank Lloyd Wright Dana-Thomas House on Thursday evening.
