159th Anniversary Of The Battle Of Gettysburg

 The battle of Gettysburg, where Union Major General George Meade's Army of the Potomac defeated attacks by Confederate General Robert E. Lee's Army of Northern Virginia involved the largest number of casualties of the entire war and is often described as the war's turning point. This two day reenactment takes place at the historic Daniel Lady Farm in Gettysburg, PA. Gates open at 9AM and attractions include a Living History Village where guests can speak and interact with historians portraying a wide variety of persons and professions. A Speaker's Tent presents first person impressions and talks on various aspects of 19th century life and the war. The house and barn which were used as a Confederate hospital during the battle of Gettysburg are open for tours and there are various Sutlers and modern day merchants selling their wares. Throughout the day there are different demonstrations and the afternoon concludes with a full-scale reenactment of the battle. There is food available, some picnic tables,  and you are welcome to bring your own chairs or refreshments. No firearms are allowed even with a permit and no animals except registered service animals are permitted. This is a working farm please dress and prepare accordingly.
